JOS — The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has rubbished plans by opposition parties to form a coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring the move “dead on arrival.”
Speaking during a radio programme in Jos, Yilwatda insisted that the ruling party remains unshaken by any political alliance or personality, including the possibility of former President Goodluck Jonathan joining the race.
“APC is not scared of any name in Nigeria,” he said confidently. “Our engines and machineries are well-oiled and prepared to win elections emphatically. The issue is not about individuals but about the party. Which vehicle will carry Jonathan? Is it ADC? Is it PDP?”
The APC chairman mocked the opposition’s strength, describing them as “scattered into small local groups without any real national presence.”
Turning his focus to Plateau State, Yilwatda accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of poor governance, alleging that the party is embroiled in “the worst corruption cases” currently under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to him, Nigerians will once again choose the APC in 2027, as the opposition remains too divided and weak to mount any serious challenge.
