The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has formally welcomed the publisher of Ovation International, Dele Momodu, into its fold.
The party announced Momodu’s entry in a statement shared on its verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday.
Momodu had on Thursday officially joined the opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections. He made the declaration in Benin City, the Edo State capital, where he addressed supporters shortly after aligning with the coalition.
Speaking at the event, the veteran journalist and former presidential candidate of the National Conscience Party clarified that his decision was driven by a desire to promote the interests of the people, stressing that he was not seeking any elective office in Edo State.
Reacting to his defection, the ADC expressed satisfaction with Momodu’s decision, describing it as a step in the right direction.
“We are delighted to officially welcome the Publisher of Ovation International and former presidential candidate of the National Conscience Party, Dele Momodu, to the ADC. You made the right choice,” the party stated.
