The Anambra State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the suspension of all party congresses across the state until further notice.

This was disclosed in a statement released in Awka on Wednesday by the State Chairman, Mr. Patrick Obianyo, and the State Secretary, Mr. Lawrence Okeke.

According to the party leadership, the decision reflects its commitment to upholding the rule of law, due process, and respect for judicial authority.

The statement urged members and stakeholders of the party to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding during the period of suspension.

It further noted that new dates for the congresses and conventions would be communicated after the conclusion of ongoing national consultations and meetings.

The party also reaffirmed the legitimacy of the Obianyo-led executive committee, calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the general public to disregard any directives or announcements from unauthorized individuals.

The ADC emphasized the need for unity and discipline among its members as it navigates the current situation.
