UMUAHIA — The Abia State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports alleging that its State Chairman, Don Norman Obinna, has been suspended from the party.
In a statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary, Chiamaka Ohaja, the party described the publication as “false, unauthorized, and deliberately misleading,” stressing that Obinna remains the duly recognized Chairman of the ADC in Abia.
“There is no factional crisis in our state chapter as insinuated. Only the National Executive Committee (NEC) has the constitutional authority to suspend a State Chairman, and no such decision has been made,” Ohaja clarified.
The party further warned those behind the report, labeling it “self-serving propaganda” designed to destabilize the ADC. Ohaja noted that culprits would face sanctions under the party’s disciplinary procedures.
“This misleading report is an attempt to destabilize the party and mislead the public. We urge our members and the general public to disregard it in its entirety,” the statement read.
