ADC Appoints Former Finance Minister Nenadi Usman to Lead Kaduna Reconciliation Drive

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has appointed former Minister of Finance, Senator Nenadi Usman, as Coalition Chairman to oversee the party’s affairs and spearhead reconciliation efforts in Kaduna State.

The appointment marks a renewed push by the ADC to resolve internal divisions and restore cohesion within its Kaduna State chapter, which has faced prolonged leadership disputes.

Announcing the development at a press conference in Kaduna, the ADC National Vice Chairman (North-West), Ja’afaru Sani, said Senator Usman’s selection reflects the party’s confidence in her leadership experience and political maturity to guide the reconciliation process and strengthen the party’s structure ahead of future elections.

Sani emphasized that unity remains a top priority for the ADC, warning against external interference from political actors allegedly working to destabilize the party in the state.

He further revealed that the party’s coalition leaders had resolved to sanction expelled members who instituted legal action against a national figure within the ADC, describing the move as an unnecessary distraction that had hindered the party’s progress.

According to Sani, the appointment of Senator Usman is a step toward rebuilding trust among members and positioning the ADC as a credible force within the opposition bloc.

“The ADC is focused on reconciliation, unity, and strengthening our democratic ideals. Senator Usman’s appointment will help guide this process in Kaduna and ensure that our party emerges stronger and more united,” Sani said.

Senator Nenadi Usman, a prominent Kaduna politician and former Minister of Finance, is also recognized as the National Chairman of the Peter Obi faction of the Labour Party. Her new role within the ADC signals a broader coalition effort among opposition figures seeking to harmonize interests and build a formidable platform for national political engagement.
