Osogbo, Osun State — The Accord Party in Osun State has confirmed the successful upload of Governor Ademola Adeleke as its duly nominated candidate for the August 8, 2026 governorship election.

The confirmation was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the party’s state chairman, Pastor Victor Akande, following the completion of all documentation and submission processes with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to Akande, INEC’s records now officially list Governor Adeleke as the Accord Party’s candidate for the forthcoming poll, marking a major milestone in the party’s election preparations.

“We are pleased to formally inform the good people of Osun State that His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has been successfully uploaded into INEC’s records as the Accord Party’s candidate,” Akande said.

He noted that the development had put to rest speculations surrounding the party’s nomination process ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

Akande described the confirmation as proof of the party’s full compliance with electoral laws and guidelines governing candidate nominations.

“The confirmation by INEC affirms that our nomination process was duly concluded in line with the requirements of the law,” he added.

The Accord chairman also expressed appreciation to party members and residents across the state for their continued support and confidence in the party and its candidate.

“We appreciate the overwhelming support, solidarity, and trust reposed in the party and in Governor Ademola Adeleke by the people of Osun State,” Akande stated.

He urged party supporters and eligible voters to remain committed to the electoral process and called on residents to ensure they are properly registered with INEC and have obtained their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the August 8, 2026 election.
