Abia Govt Denies Viral Claim Attributed to Otti, Calls It Fake News

0

The Abia State government has dismissed a viral social media report alleging that Governor Alex Otti said he had no business with Lagos and would make the state look like a village.

The controversial report, titled “Governor Otti Fires Back at Over Demolition of Igbo Businesses”, quoted Otti as saying: “I have no business with Lagos, I am not competing with Lagos. My competition is China and Dubai. By the time I’m done with Abia, Lagos will look like a village.”

In a swift reaction, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Otti, described the statement as “false, baseless, and unfounded propaganda” allegedly orchestrated by “angry and frustrated politicians.”

Ekeoma stressed that the Abia governor detests arrogance and divisive rhetoric, insisting Otti could never make such a remark.

“Given the unbreakable bond and decades-long relationship between Governor Otti and his brother, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, speaking directly with him on any matter is one of the easiest things to do,” Ekeoma said.

He further alleged that the same “desperate politicians” behind the fake news were those who circulated petitions and inciting articles after learning that President Bola Tinubu would be visiting Abia to commission projects.
