The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has visited the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) facility in Abuja to sign the condolence register for the victims of the recent aircraft crash in Ondo State.
Obi disclosed this in a statement posted on his X handle, where he expressed condolences to the Nigerian Air Force and the families of those who lost their lives in the incident.
The former Anambra State governor said the visit provided an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made by personnel of the Armed Forces and other security agencies in the line of duty.
He said the courage and sacrifices of security personnel who put their lives on the line to protect the country and its citizens should never be taken for granted.
Obi extended his condolences to the families, colleagues and loved ones of the deceased, praying for strength and comfort for those affected by the tragedy.
He also prayed for the peaceful repose of the victims and for continued protection for all Nigerians serving the country.
“May God grant eternal rest to the departed and give their families the strength and fortitude to bear this painful loss,” Obi said.
“May God continue to protect all those who serve our country.”
