Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Oluwatobiloba Anidugbe, popularly known as Kizz Daniel, has revealed that he took a break from music following the death of his mother earlier this year.
The singer disclosed this while responding to a fan on X on Friday.
The fan, @VicroyDominion1, had suggested that Kizz Daniel’s absence from the music scene could be linked to his work on a new album.
However, the singer clarified that his decision to pause his musical activities had nothing to do with a new project.
Kizz Daniel said he stepped away from music to mourn his mother and support his family following her death.
“I paused for my Mom, not an album… Lost her this year, but I gotta keep moving for the rest of the family… sorry I came late this year,” he wrote.
The singer’s revelation comes after he had previously disclosed in 2025 that his wife lost her mother in 2024.
