Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has expressed confidence that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) would emerge victorious in the 2027 presidential election if the process is free, fair, and credible.
Fayose made the assertion in a Facebook post on Sunday while responding to comments by Lere Olayinka, the media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, who reportedly questioned his electoral relevance in Ekiti State.
Reacting to the remarks, Fayose alleged that election manipulation, vote buying, and intimidation of political opponents undermine the democratic process.
“If you think I don’t have electoral value in Ekiti State, why are you people rigging? Why are you buying votes for as much as ₦50,000?” he wrote.
He further alleged that some of his political associates were arrested ahead of the Ekiti State governorship election, insisting that electoral strength should be determined by the will of the people rather than judicial pronouncements or alleged electoral malpractice.
Fayose maintained that the NDC would secure victory in the 2027 presidential election if Nigerians were allowed to vote in a transparent and credible electoral process.
“If they call an election today, the NDC will win before 12 noon if the election is free and fair. The only power you people have over us is rigging, and the people are quiet,” he stated.
His comments come amid ongoing political debates over electoral reforms and preparations for the 2027 general elections.
