
ABUJA — Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has officially endorsed his deputy, Murtala Sule Galadima Garo, as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election, reaffirming his confidence in the deputy’s leadership and loyalty.
The announcement was made on Monday during a strategic meeting with federal political appointees from Kano State serving under President Bola Tinubu at the Kano Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
In a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Yusuf said the decision was informed by Garo’s steadfast loyalty, commitment, and significant contributions to the administration’s achievements since assuming office.
“I have no regrets about choosing Garo as my Deputy Governor. He has proven to be the right choice, and I have every confidence in him,” Governor Yusuf said.
The governor also passed a vote of confidence in his deputy, describing him as a dependable and effective partner whose competence, dedication, and strong sense of responsibility have been instrumental in advancing the administration’s development agenda.
Yusuf urged party leaders, political appointees, and supporters to remain united and focused as the government works to consolidate its achievements while laying the groundwork for the 2027 governorship election.
