Oyo Demolishes Ibadan Building Linked to Kidnapping Probe in Crackdown on Insecurity

The Oyo State Government on Monday demolished a three-bedroom bungalow located in Lako Community along the Aiyegun–Anaye Road axis of Ibadan in connection with an ongoing kidnapping investigation.

The operation was carried out by officials of the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, supported by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.

According to the government, the property was identified during investigations into the abduction of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, who were reportedly kidnapped at Elewura in the Challenge area of Ibadan on June 3, 2026.

Authorities said the demolition forms part of intensified efforts to curb kidnapping and other violent crimes across the state, as well as disrupt suspected criminal networks.

The state government further reiterated its commitment to ensuring that individuals found culpable of criminal activities, along with properties allegedly used in the commission of such crimes—where legally permitted—are duly handled through appropriate judicial and enforcement processes.
