
The newly sworn-in Deputy Governor of Kano State, Murtala Sule Garo, on Wednesday officially resumed duties as the state’s second-in-command, with several influential political figures in attendance.
Among those present at the event were former governors of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Ibrahim Shekarau.
Also in attendance were former Deputy Governor Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo, lawmakers Abubakar Kabir Abubakar and Alhassan Ado Doguwa, as well as the Minister of State for the FCT, Mariya Mahmud Bunkure.
Speaking shortly after assuming office, Garo expressed gratitude to God for witnessing what he described as a historic moment in his political journey.
He also appreciated Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him through the appointment.
The deputy governor pledged to make effective use of the guidance and support given to him in order to advance the governor’s “Kano First Agenda,” aimed at driving development and improving the welfare of residents across the state.
Garo further prayed for divine wisdom and direction in the discharge of his responsibilities, while thanking the people of Kano State for their continued prayers and support.
