The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has elected Otunba Salimon Oladiti as its new President during the ongoing 6th Quadrennial Delegates Conference held in Lagos.

Oladiti, a former National Trustee of the union, secured his emergence at the high-profile gathering of delegates, marking a new phase of leadership for one of Nigeria’s most influential labour unions in the oil and gas sector.

Alongside his election, Comrade Akin Oladejo, former Chairman of the Oil and Gas Supply (OGS), was also chosen as the Deputy President of the union.

The conference, which continues to draw key stakeholders across the industry, is expected to shape the future direction of NUPENG as it navigates pressing issues affecting workers in Nigeria’s petroleum and natural gas sector.

More details are expected to emerge as proceedings continue.
