Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, on Wednesday held a high-level breakfast meeting in Abuja with the British High Commission to Nigeria and other top international diplomats.
The meeting, which included representatives from the European Union, Germany, Canada, and France, was described by Obi as an “enriching discussion on relationships.”
In a post shared on X, Obi stated that the engagement focused on strengthening ties and exchanging perspectives with members of the international community, though he did not disclose specific details of the discussions.
The development comes at a time of increasing interactions between Nigerian political stakeholders and foreign diplomats, fueling speculations about early political alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Obi, who emerged as a prominent opposition figure during the 2023 presidential election, has continued to play an active role in national discourse, particularly on issues relating to governance, economic reform, and institutional accountability.
