Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed on Wednesday held a closed-door meeting with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, and Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf at the Government House in Bauchi.
The meeting, described as strictly private, excluded state party officials, and members of the press were barred from covering the session. Attempts by journalists to obtain comments from the key figures after the meeting were unsuccessful, as both Mohammed and Yilwatda declined to speak, insisting the discussion was a private engagement.
The meeting comes less than 24 hours after Governor Mohammed publicly indicated interest in joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC). His statement followed a recent visit to Bauchi by a delegation of ADC leaders led by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.
The closed-door nature of the meeting and the timing have triggered political speculation, particularly regarding possible realignments ahead of upcoming political activities.
