Jos, Plateau State — Rev. Sunday Bobai Agang, a leading pastor of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) and chairman of its Board of Trustees, has been safely released after being kidnapped from his residence in Jos North Local Government Area.

Danjuma Auta, acting public relations officer of ECWA, confirmed the development, stating that Rev. Agang is now safe following his ordeal.

In an official statement, ECWA expressed immense gratitude and joy over the pastor’s release. “We wish to announce with immense gratitude and joy the release of our dear pastor, Rev. Prof. Sunday Bobai Agang, who was abducted by unknown gunmen. We are delighted to confirm that he has regained his freedom and is currently safe,” the statement read.

The church credited God for answering the prayers of the entire ECWA family and the global Church of Christ, describing the release as a testament to divine faithfulness and the power of collective prayer. ECWA also appreciated all members who stood in prayer during the trying period.

While celebrating the pastor’s safe return, ECWA highlighted the persistent insecurity in the country. “The rising wave of kidnapping, which has sadly become a means of livelihood for some, is a threat to our collective existence and must be addressed urgently,” the statement said.

The church called on all levels of government to fulfill their constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and properties, urging decisive actions to dismantle criminal networks and restore peace across Nigeria.

Rev. Agang was abducted on Tuesday morning from his residence in Farin Gada, Jos North LGA, Plateau State. ECWA reaffirmed its commitment to praying for the peace of Nigeria and the safety of all citizens.
