Former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Eze Madumere, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), bringing an end to his long-standing affiliation with the party.
In a resignation letter dated March 17 and addressed to the APC Chairman of Ezinihitte Ward in Mbiere, Mbaitoli Local Government Area, Madumere announced that his decision takes immediate effect.
He described the move as a difficult but necessary step, following what he called “deep personal reflection” on his political journey within the party. According to him, the time has come to explore new political paths and opportunities.
Madumere expressed gratitude for the relationships he built during his time in the APC, emphasizing his desire to maintain cordial ties with party members despite his departure. He also reiterated his commitment to contributing to the development of Nigeria, regardless of political affiliation.
The former deputy governor, who served under ex-Governor Rochas Okorocha, did not disclose his next political destination but urged party leaders and supporters to respect his decision as he considers alternative platforms.
