Ohanku-Ndoki, Ukwa-East — Former Senate President and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees Chairman, Adolphus Wabara, alongside leaders of opposition parties in Ukwa-East Local Government Area, Abia State, have declared their support for the re-election of Governor Alex Otti of the Labour Party (LP).
The endorsement was made on Thursday following the foundation laying ceremony of the Ukwa-East General Hospital. Wabara moved the motion for Otti’s second-term bid, which was seconded by Abia State House of Assembly member Louis Obianyi.
Speaking on the decision, Wabara emphasized that the support transcends party lines, citing satisfaction with Governor Otti’s performance in Ukwa-East and across Abia State.
The Ukwa-East leaders, joined by former Ohanaeze Ndigbo Secretary-General Okey Emuchay, appealed to Governor Otti to revive the Abia Palm Company to generate employment and stimulate local economic growth.
Governor Otti, during the hospital flag-off ceremony, reiterated his commitment to providing accessible, high-quality healthcare across Abia State, assuring residents that no community would be left without essential health services.
The event also saw former PDP and All Progressives Congress (APC) members formally join the Labour Party, receiving a warm reception from Ukwa-East residents in support of Governor Otti.
