The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has publicly invited Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), assuring him of the party’s full backing if he makes the move.
Kalu made the call on Monday during a town hall meeting he organised at his country home in Agbamuzu, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.
“Let me use this opportunity again, publicly, to invite Governor Alex Otti to join our party,” Kalu said. “If he comes to our party, we will support him.”
According to the Deputy Speaker, the APC remains open to leaders who are willing to work collectively to strengthen the party and advance its political objectives in Abia State and across the country.
He described his return home as an honour, noting that both the National Assembly and the administration of President Bola Tinubu were committed to improving the lives of Nigerians.
Kalu also reaffirmed his accountability to his constituents, expressing optimism about the country’s future. He urged Nigerians to continue supporting President Tinubu, the APC, and the party’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He stressed that the Tinubu-led administration was focused on building a lasting legacy that would benefit future generations.
