CAC Introduces New Mandatory Requirements for Business Name Updates

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has rolled out fresh compulsory requirements for all Business Name Online Update applications, signaling a tighter verification process for business owners nationwide.

In a notice published on its official X handle on Wednesday, the commission announced that all update requests must now be accompanied by the following details:

  • Date of Birth
  • Registered Office Email
  • Proprietor’s Email
  • Phone Number for the registered address (or proprietor, if different)
  • Valid Means of Identification

The CAC explained that the new guidelines take immediate effect and are designed to streamline and fast-track the processing of Business Name updates.

Business owners are urged to provide accurate information to avoid delays.
