The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared renewed momentum ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State, with its flag bearer, Ambassador Dare Bejide, assuring supporters that the party is firmly on course for victory.
Bejide, who was warmly received at the ADC secretariat in Ado-Ekiti after returning from Abuja, reaffirmed his commitment to leading the party to a winning outing. He described the gathering not as a campaign event, but as a moment to appreciate God and acknowledge how far the ADC had come.
Addressing a crowd of jubilant supporters, he urged members to remain resolute despite the recent crisis at the secretariat, insisting the incident was only a temporary setback.
“This is a positive beginning towards 2026,” he said. “The ticket is in God’s hands—no power comes except from Him.”
The event was attended by prominent party figures, including State Chairman Pastor Omolayo; former Commissioner for Information, Akin Omole; Hon. Femi Adegbite; Otunba Emmanuel Fayose; and Hon. Dare Adekolu. They all pledged their full support for Bejide’s ambition and emphasized unity as the party prepares for the election.
Pastor Omolayo praised members for showing courage despite recent tensions, noting that the ADC remains a party built on love, integrity, and collective responsibility.
Barr. Omole acknowledged the unrest that recently affected the party, explaining that Bejide’s trip to Abuja was to resolve crucial electoral matters. He encouraged members to stay active and committed to strengthening the party at all levels.
Other speakers—Adegbite, Fayose, and Adekolu—called for loyalty, cooperation, and steadfastness, assuring that the leadership is working to resolve internal issues and reposition the ADC for success.
Speaking on the attack on the party office, Bejide described it as politically motivated and confirmed that the incident had been reported to authorities in Abuja. He also highlighted broader national concerns such as insecurity and unemployment, linking them to years of leadership failure.
He stressed that equipping citizens with practical skills and revitalizing agriculture remain central to addressing these challenges in Ekiti and beyond.
“We have a lot to do, and we are determined to achieve it,” he said, reiterating the ADC’s readiness to work tirelessly for the people.
With renewed enthusiasm from its leadership and supporters, the ADC says it is positioning itself as a major contender as the countdown to the 2026 Ekiti governorship election gathers pace.
