Tinubu Will Sweep Edo in 2027 or I’ll Resign — Governor Okpebholor Declares

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholor, has made a bold pledge ahead of the 2027 presidential election, declaring that President Bola Tinubu will secure victory in the state.

In a viral video interview, the governor stated emphatically that he would step down from office if Tinubu fails to win Edo in the forthcoming election. According to him, residents across the state are fully aligned with the president and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Okpebholor attributed the growing support to development projects executed under his administration since the APC took over the state, insisting that the opposition has been completely weakened.

“There is no opposition here in Edo — everybody is for Asiwaju in this state,” he said. “Tinubu is more popular than me in Edo State. If he doesn’t win the presidential election in Edo in 2027, I will resign.”

The governor’s declaration has stirred fresh political debate as the countdown to the 2027 polls intensifies.
