Amaechi Ally Fires Back: Eze Blasts Oshiomhole Over ‘Terrible Minister’ Comment

0

Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a longstanding political associate of former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, has issued a stern warning to Senator Adams Oshiomhole, urging him to stop what he described as unwarranted attacks against Amaechi and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Eze’s reaction followed Oshiomhole’s appearance on Channels TV’s Politics Today, where the Edo North Senator labelled Amaechi “the most terrible” minister and accused him of mismanaging the nation’s rail sector. Oshiomhole also questioned the rationale behind constructing a rail line to Niger Republic while Rivers State lacked its own.

Speaking in a statement on Thursday, Eze dismissed Oshiomhole’s comments as politically motivated, suggesting they stem from fears within the APC over an “imminent defeat” fueled by what he called the “gross incompetence” of President Bola Tinubu.

According to him, Oshiomhole is “one of those who, if Nigeria’s systems were functional, should be behind bars,” but is instead “serving as a puppet senator” to avoid prosecution.

He described Amaechi as a principled leader with nothing to hide.
“Amaechi speaks truth to power because he has no cockroach in his cupboard,” Eze said. “People like Oshiomhole should bury their heads in shame when patriots are making efforts to liberate the country.”

Eze, a former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct nPDP, praised Amaechi’s adherence to due process, especially during his time as Rivers State governor. He urged Oshiomhole to “take his bile elsewhere,” noting that Amaechi remains focused on national issues and Nigeria’s “liberation project.”

On the shutdown of the judiciary during Amaechi’s tenure, Eze insisted the facts were clear: “That was when his friend Wike attempted to use five lawmakers to impeach a sitting governor, contrary to the constitution.”

He also defended Amaechi’s role in reviving Nigeria’s rail system, stating that his development blueprint for the South-South, South-East, and North-East remains in use, though “selectively and sluggishly executed” by the current administration.

Taking another swipe at the senator, Eze added: “Oshiomhole should hide his face for becoming the first National Chairman of a political party to be impeached by his own ward.”

The exchange marks another heated chapter in the ongoing political tension between allies of Amaechi and loyalists of the current administration.
