Tinubu Meets Newly Appointed Service Chiefs Behind Closed Doors

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently holding a closed-door meeting with the newly appointed Service Chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, signaling a renewed push to strengthen Nigeria’s security framework and improve coordination among the nation’s armed forces.

Although details of the meeting remain undisclosed, authoritative sources suggest that discussions are centered on enhancing inter-agency synergy, refining operational strategies, and addressing the country’s most pressing security challenges, including terrorism, banditry, and internal unrest.

The high-level session follows the President’s recent approval of a new slate of military chiefs — a strategic move described by the Presidency as part of ongoing efforts to promote professionalism, efficiency, and accountability within Nigeria’s defence architecture.

Those in attendance include the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede; the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shaibu; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Kennedy Aneke; and the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas.

The meeting is expected to outline the administration’s security priorities and provide direction for the new military leadership as it assumes full operational command. Insiders believe the discussions will set the tone for a more unified and proactive approach to national defence under the Tinubu administration.
