The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed as fake news a viral social media post claiming to reveal the party’s official timetable for upcoming congresses across the country.
The widely circulated post, which surfaced on Sunday, included a purported schedule for ward, local government, state, and national congresses, alongside alleged prices of nomination forms and a date for the party’s national convention.
In a swift reaction, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, issued a statement on Sunday urging party members and the public to disregard the document, describing it as entirely unauthorised.
“The attention of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has been drawn to an ‘APC 2025 Schedule of Nationwide Congresses and Related Activities’ widely in circulation on social media,” the statement read. “Our great party wishes to clarify that the purported schedule was neither made nor authorised by the party, and should be disregarded as fake news.”
Morka cautioned party members against relying on information from unofficial sources, assuring that the APC would duly communicate any authentic timetable or guideline for future congresses through its recognised media and communication channels.
The statement reinforces the party’s stance against misinformation and underscores its commitment to transparency and due process in all internal political activities.
