Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has urged voters to deliver a clean sweep for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the November 8 governorship election, declaring his mission to win all 5,720 polling units across the state.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Awka South Local Government Area, Soludo dismissed opposition claims of pre-written results and vowed that no form of electoral manipulation would succeed in Anambra.
“Our target is to win all 5,720 polling units. Those who think they have written results in advance will be disappointed. Nobody can subvert the will of the people in Anambra — this is APGA’s fortress,” Soludo declared.
The governor accused rival parties of plotting to import thugs into the state, warning that their plans would be met with resistance. “We know their plans, who they are working with, and when they intend to strike. We are waiting for them,” he stated.
Soludo, accompanied by his deputy Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, former APGA National Chairman Chief Victor Oye, and other top party figures, said his administration’s record of performance and grassroots connection would ensure total victory.
“In 2021, we won massively; in 2025, we will sweep every polling unit. What remains to be seen is the margin of victory,” he said, urging voters to come out in large numbers to prevent voter apathy.
Expressing confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Soludo assured that his government would cooperate fully to ensure a credible process. “We will make Anambra a model election state. Let the people vote, their votes counted, and the true results announced,” he affirmed.
Touching on the state’s zoning arrangement, the governor maintained that the governorship should return to Anambra Central after his tenure. “Anyone from Central voting against that arrangement should have his head examined,” he said pointedly.
Soludo also announced rewards for communities and wards that deliver strong results for APGA — ₦1 million for each victorious ward and ₦5 million for the overall best-performing ward based on voter turnout.
Highlighting his administration’s achievements, he said the foundation for a new Anambra had been firmly laid, with his second term poised to deliver dual carriageways, smart schools, modern markets, and urban renewal projects.
He also cautioned against the activities of fake native doctors, warning that his administration would not tolerate those deceiving youths with false promises of wealth through diabolical means.
“Anambra celebrates hard work, enterprise, and integrity. We are building a society of sound values,” Soludo stated.
In support of the re-election campaign, Deputy Governor Ibezim presented cheques totaling ₦103.5 million on behalf of the Awka South community.
