Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has brushed off rumours suggesting Erling Haaland could be on his way out of the Etihad, insisting the Norwegian striker knows exactly what he’s doing.
Guardiola stated that Haaland’s decision to commit to a long-term deal with the Premier League giants shows his loyalty and confidence in the club’s project.
“I think Erling is not stupid enough to sign a long contract he would not like to accomplish. That’s for sure,” Guardiola said. “But with football, who knows what is going to happen next time? Nobody knows!”
Haaland, who has been linked several times with Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid and Barcelona, is reportedly under contract with Manchester City until the summer of 2027.
