Tinubu Appoints New Heads for Biosafety, Tourism, and Investment Tribunal Agencies

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of three new heads of key federal agencies, as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s institutions and boost sectoral growth.

Bello Bawa Bwari, from Niger State, has been named the new Director-General of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA) for an initial term of four years, effective September 18, 2025.

Also, Hon. Barr. Aminu Junaidu, from Zamfara State, has been appointed as Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Investment and Security Tribunal (IST). His appointment takes effect from September 18, 2025, for a five-year term.

In addition, Olayiwola Nurudeen Awakan has been appointed the Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) for a four-year term, effective September 2, 2025.

The President charged the new appointees to bring their wealth of expertise to bear in repositioning and advancing their respective agencies, stressing that their roles are vital to the nation’s progress.
