Suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduagha, has warned the Clerk of the National Assembly, Kamorudeen Ogunlana, of imminent legal action if she is barred from resuming plenary on Monday.
Her warning was contained in a letter dated September 10, 2025, and signed by her counsel, Chief Michael Numa (SAN).
The lawmaker cautioned that any attempt by the National Assembly to defy a subsisting court order on her resumption would amount to a breach of the Constitution and the Code of Conduct for Public Officers.
“Take notice that failure to comply by Monday, 15th September 2025, will leave us with no alternative but to initiate proceedings against you personally and in your official capacity,” the letter read.
According to Numa, the refusal of the National Assembly to obey judicial directives is not only unconstitutional but also capable of inciting a breach of peace.
He further warned that the Clerk would be held personally liable for contempt of court if he fails to comply.
