ABUJA — Former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Sam Amadi, has urged Nigerians to separate personal sentiments from political criticism when assessing President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.
Amadi, in a post on X on Tuesday, cautioned against demonizing Tinubu as an individual, stressing that such an approach would only repeat the same mistakes made during the opposition against former President Goodluck Jonathan.
According to him, the focus should be on rejecting Tinubu’s style of politics and governance while working toward producing a leader with fundamentally different qualities.
“There is no sense in hating Tinubu as a person and bringing someone who is as heinous in politics and governance as him. That is what we did against @GEJonathan,” Amadi wrote.
He added: “Hate Tinubu’s politics and policies and bring someone who is very different from him. That is what is rational and honest.”
The policy expert emphasized that meaningful political change would only come from issue-based opposition rather than personality-driven animosity.
