ABUJA — A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Farouk Adamu Aliyu, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s return to office in 2027 is unstoppable, dismissing opposition efforts as inconsequential.
Aliyu made the assertion on Tuesday while speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme, where he expressed strong confidence in Tinubu’s political strength and chances of re-election.
“I want you to understand that there are certain things we will not do. It is true that when you are president, there are certain things you don’t do,” Aliyu stated.
He acknowledged that Nigerians often heap every national challenge on the president but argued that not all problems should be directly attributed to the officeholder.
“No, let me concede — there are certain things we attributed to former President Goodluck Jonathan which were not correct. I realise there are exigencies of the office, so you need to tread with caution,” he explained.
Reaffirming his confidence, Aliyu declared: “And let me tell you that nothing will stop President Bola Tinubu from coming back in 2027.”
The APC stalwart’s remarks come amid growing opposition alignments and coalition talks ahead of the 2027 general elections.
