Uba Sani Targets Grassroots: Governor Delivers Medical Equipment to Zaria Clinic, Reassures on Road Project

ZARIA — Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, is rolling out policies and programmes designed to carry every segment of society along, with particular focus on the poor and vulnerable, his Principal Private Secretary, Prof. Bello Ayuba, has said.

Speaking at the weekend when the Health Services Management Board delivered medical equipment to the Unguwan Liman Ward Clinic in Zaria City, Prof. Ayuba explained that Governor Sani’s philosophy is rooted in his campaign promise of inclusive governance.

“The masses are the foot soldiers of democracy, and for this reason, they should be factored into every policy formulation,” Ayuba noted.

According to him, the new medical supplies — which included hospital beds, maternity and natal items, examination tables, and screens — were provided in response to earlier appeals from residents of Unguwan Liman, who had complained of traveling long distances to access even basic healthcare.

He assured that drugs and other consumables would soon follow to complement the equipment, adding: “Governor Uba Sani has the interest of the vulnerable and the poor at heart and will always ensure that government programmes specifically target them.”

On concerns that a flagged-off road project in the community had been abandoned, Prof. Ayuba dismissed the claims as false, revealing that the government had already paid contractors 70 percent of the contract sum while also approving compensation for affected households.

“These are antics of mischief makers who do not wish the governor well. The project is very much on course,” he stressed, urging residents to remain patient as more developmental amenities reach them.

Presenting the equipment, Dr. Abdullahi Sule, Zonal Coordinator of the Health Services Management Board, appealed to the community to safeguard the facilities against theft and vandalism.

Dr. Hauwa Mahmud, Secretary of Zaria Area Council Health Authority, expressed confidence that the supplies would significantly improve healthcare delivery in the ward.

Elders of Unguwan Liman, led by Malam Muhammad Tukur Ahmed, lauded the state government’s intervention and requested that the clinic be upgraded to a primary healthcare center. He also encouraged residents to patronize the clinic regularly, saying usage records would guide government decisions on future upgrades.

Prof. Ayuba, who hails from the community, further appealed for continued prayers and support for Governor Sani’s administration, assuring that its vision to open up rural areas and strengthen urban development would be fully realized.
