Aisha Buhari Relocates to Late Buhari Residence Following His Burial in Daura

Former First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, has officially relocated to the Kaduna residence of her late husband, former President Muhammadu Buhari, following his burial earlier this month.

Mrs. Buhari’s arrival in Kaduna was warmly received by a delegation led by the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe. The move comes shortly after the nation laid the late president to rest with full state and military honours.

The residence in Kaduna was the last home President Buhari occupied before departing for London to undergo medical treatment. He passed away on June 13, 2025, at a clinic in the United Kingdom, after battling an undisclosed illness.

His body was flown back to Nigeria on June 15 and buried in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, in accordance with Islamic rites. The funeral was attended by top government officials, military leaders, and dignitaries from across the country.

The late President Buhari, who served two terms in office from 2015 to 2023, is remembered for his anti-corruption stance, military background, and strong influence on Nigeria’s political landscape.

Mrs. Buhari’s relocation to Kaduna marks a new chapter for the former First Family, as tributes continue to pour in nationwide in honour of the late statesman.
