Dino Melaye Makes Courtroom Debut as Lawyer

Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has officially made his first courtroom appearance as a legal practitioner, marking a significant milestone in his professional journey after years in politics.

Melaye, who recently completed his law degree at Baze University, Abuja, appeared before Justice Emeka Nwite at Court 8 of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday, July 18. Dressed in full wig and gown, he joined proceedings in what was his first case since being called to the Nigerian Bar earlier this month.

The former senator, who served in the 8th National Assembly, was among the 5,733 new legal practitioners inducted during the Call to Bar ceremony held in Abuja.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain wrote:
“Senator Dino Melaye at the Federal High Court Abuja today. Appeared before Justice Emeka Nwite of Court 8.”

Melaye’s transition from lawmaking to law practice signals a new phase in his public career. Known for his vocal presence in the Senate and active role in national politics, his entry into the legal field is drawing attention across political and legal circles.
