2027: Ex-APC Chairman Urges Abubakar Malami to Join Kebbi Governorship Race

YAURI, Kebbi State – A former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yauri Local Government Area, Alhaji Rabiu Suleiman Gulma, has called on former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), to contest the 2027 governorship election in Kebbi State.

Speaking to journalists in Yauri, Gulma said Malami’s vast experience in governance, coupled with his national exposure, makes him a compelling choice to lead the state into a new era of development.

“Though he has not officially declared interest, we believe Malami is the kind of leader Kebbi needs. His track record speaks for itself,” Gulma stated.

He further disclosed that he and other loyalists are prepared to begin consultations and grassroots mobilization across all 21 local government areas of the state once Malami signals any intent to run.

According to Gulma, several APC stakeholders in Kebbi are hopeful that Malami’s emergence would foster party unity and provide a renewed sense of direction in the state’s political and developmental landscape.

The call adds to growing speculation about potential contenders in the 2027 elections as political alignments begin to take shape ahead of the polls.
