The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced that 33 vessels loaded with petroleum products, food supplies, and other commodities are scheduled to arrive at Lagos ports between March 2 and March 8.
According to the NPA’s Daily Shipping Position, the vessels will dock at Apapa Port, Tin Can Island Port, and Lekki Deep Sea Port. Of these, 16 are container ships transporting assorted goods, while the remaining vessels carry bulk commodities including urea, crude oil, fertiliser, salt, gypsum, sugar, and other general cargo.
The authority also reported that 11 vessels and tankers have already arrived and are awaiting berthing. These include shipments of aviation fuel, petrol, diesel, alkaline substances, and containerised cargo.
Currently, 17 vessels are discharging cargo at the Lagos ports, covering bulk wheat, general cargo, urea, gas, trucks, and various containerised goods, highlighting sustained shipping and cargo-handling activity across the Lagos port corridor.
The consistent flow of vessels underscores the critical role of Lagos ports in ensuring steady imports of essential goods for the nation.
