ABUJA — Former All Progressives Congress (APC) senator, Kabiru Marafa, has issued a bold political threat ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring that he will take one million votes away from President Bola Tinubu’s support base.
Marafa made the vow during an appearance on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme, on Monday, insisting that he has both the influence and determination to deliver on the promise.
“But I want to assure you something today: I am going to deduct one million votes out of Mr President’s votes that he got in 2023. Mark my words, I am going to do it,” Marafa said.
According to him, the move is not mere rhetoric but a mission he will vigorously pursue. “I’m going to work for it, and by the special grace of God, I’m going to win that. Now, whether somebody says I’m a featherweight or lightweight, 2027 will determine who is a featherweight,” he added.
The former lawmaker stressed that Zamfara politics has evolved, and the people of the state — as well as the wider North-West region — are ready to “do justice” at the polls.
“Zamfara State politics has come of age. When the time comes, the people of Zamfara and indeed the North-West will prove their point,” Marafa said.
