At least 34 countries have officially booked their places at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, following the latest round of qualification matches on Monday night.
Germany became one of the newest entrants after crushing Slovakia 6-0 at the Red Bull Arena, a dominant display that sealed their ticket to next year’s expanded tournament. The Netherlands followed shortly after, sweeping Lithuania aside with a confident 4-0 victory to confirm their participation.
The 2026 World Cup will feature 48 teams for the first time, up from the 32 nations that competed at the Qatar 2022 edition. With co-hosts Canada, Mexico and the United States already assured of their spots, more countries across the continents are steadily joining the lineup.
