Nigeria Decides 2023: Rescheduled elections begin in Bayelsa

Finally, the rescheduled presidential and National Assembly elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission for the affected polling units in the four registration areas of the Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State have begun.

The late arrival of electoral officers and voting materials delayed the commencement of the exercise.

The commission had rescheduled it to start at 10 am on Sunday but the voting process began at 11:50 am.

Simultaneous accreditation of voters and voting is in progress amid heavy security presence.

At the Fakulu Health Centre polling unit 19; Isiogu Town Square polling unit 17; and Fakulubo Hall polling unit 14, voters are lining up to cast their votes.

A similar scenario was also observed at the Fakulu Primary School (East) polling unit 15 and Ogriga Town Hall polling unit 18.

It was also learnt that accreditation and balloting have started at Ayemeze polling unit 004.
