2023 General Elections: Tinubu beats Atiku, Obi in Oyo State

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Party (APC), Bola Tinubu, has defeated Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party in Saturday’s presidential election in Oyo State.

According to results announced by the collation officer, Prof. Olusola Babatunde on Monday, Tinubu polled 449,884 to win the state, Atiku polled 182,977, Obi polled 99,110, while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian Peoples Party polled 4,095 to come fourth.

The collation officer disclosed that a total of 851,956 were cast. 809,485 votes were valid while 42,471 were rejected.

The result shows the total votes cast across all 33 Local Government Areas.

Oyo State is under a PDP administration led by Governor Seyi Makinde, who is a member of the G5 governors of the PDP.
