WhatsApp has added a new screen-sharing capability to its platform to improve the video calling experience. Mark Zuckerberg, Meta’s CEO, unveiled the new feature in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
Users will be able to share papers, photographs, and even their shopping cart with contacts who are accessible for video conversations with the new functionality.
“We are thrilled to introduce the ability to share your screen during WhatsApp video calls,” stated Zuckerberg.
AT3 Resources, a consultancy firm supervising Meta’s activities in Nigeria, emphasized the feature’s adaptability for both personal and professional contexts in a statement.
Users can now use landscape mode on their cellphones during video conversations, according to the business.
According to the statement, the new function will serve to improve the visual and sharing experience and provide a more immersive engagement.
“This feature is particularly useful for both personal and professional scenarios,” according to the statement.
“In addition, WhatsApp users on smartphones can now enjoy video calls in landscape mode. This improvement provides a more expansive and immersive viewing and sharing experience during video calls.”
The new functionality competes not only with standard video conferencing programs like Microsoft Meet, Google Meet, and Zoom but also with Apple’s FaceTime.
