Battery-powered face mask by LG

Electronic giant, LG unveiled a new face mask which they have called ‘wearable air purifier’, that has built-in fans and filters.

The battery-powered mask which is called, PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier,  has two H13 HEPA filters, similar to those used in home air purifying products, as well as dual fans and a patented respiratory sensor to adjust the fan speed in line with the wearer’s breathing speed.

The tech company said they created this device to allow users to breathe clean air both indoors and outside.

The battery of this face mask can last up to eight hours on a single charge, the device comes with a case that houses UV-LED lights that kill germs between uses, while the case can also send alerts to an LG app to notify the user when the air filters need to be replaced.

The Korean tech giant also made it known that the mask could help solve the problem of inconsistent quality of home-made masks and the short supply of disposable masks.

They are to officially reveal the mask during the IFA technology trade show in Berlin next week, which will go on virtually.
