Former Manchester United star Dwight Yorke has suggested that Chelsea forward Cole Palmer could be a suitable replacement for Mohamed Salah at Liverpool.
Palmer, 22, has been Chelsea’s standout performer this season due to his work rate and consistency. However, his recent dip in form has raised questions about his long-term future at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to CasinoBeats, Yorke expressed doubt that Palmer would push for a move even if Chelsea fail to secure UEFA Champions League qualification.
“He doesn’t strike me as that kind of individual. I don’t think he would demand to leave Chelsea if he’s playing a season out of the Champions League,” Yorke said.
He acknowledged that while Palmer has revived his career at Chelsea and established himself as a key player, Liverpool could be a realistic destination if Salah departs.
“Where is he going to go and become a top player and the top man? Liverpool? Okay, maybe Manchester United—he said he’s a United fan—but he won’t go there because he’s a City man,” Yorke added.
“With Arsenal, Bukayo Saka is there. But Liverpool might be an option if Mo Salah were to leave, so that might be something they look at.”
