President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Remo Stars Football Club following their historic victory in the 2024–2025 Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL), calling it a proud and defining moment for Ikenne, Ogun State, and Nigerian football at large.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President commended the club’s impressive rise to the summit of Nigerian football, just four years after gaining promotion to the top flight.

President Tinubu applauded the players, coaching staff, and management for their resilience, discipline, and unwavering commitment—especially after coming close to the title in previous seasons.

“Your courage in the face of repeated challenges should serve as a powerful inspiration to clubs across Nigeria,” he said. “Your success reinforces the values of tenacity, optimism, and dedication in the pursuit of excellence.”

He also praised the club’s owner and chairman, Mr. Kunle Soname, for his visionary leadership and investments in grassroots football, particularly the development of the world-class stadium in Ikenne, which he noted as a catalyst for sporting excellence.

As national champions, Remo Stars will now represent Nigeria in the prestigious CAF Champions League. The President urged the team to bring the same fighting spirit and determination to the continental stage, expressing confidence that they can make the nation proud once again.

President Tinubu also called on football lovers across the country to support Remo Stars in their upcoming international campaign, stating that the team’s achievement is a beacon of national pride.
