Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has downplayed a heated on-field exchange between Declan Rice and Gabriel Magalhães following the Gunners’ frustrating 0-0 draw against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.
The result dealt a significant blow to Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes, leaving them 13 points behind league leaders Liverpool.
Rice and Gabriel were seen in a tense discussion at full-time, but Arteta remained uncertain about the nature of their disagreement.
“They are probably demanding more from each other,” Arteta said in his post-match interview. “I really don’t know the topic they discussed. I walked to the referees and our supporters and didn’t see anything.”
With domestic title ambitions fading, Arsenal now shifts focus to the Champions League, where they face PSV on Tuesday.
