In a bid to maintain maximum focus ahead of their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe on Tuesday, Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has imposed strict restrictions on access to the team’s camp.
According to an official statement released on Sunday, Chelle has barred visitors and journalists from the camp, ensuring that the squad remains fully concentrated on their preparation. The statement also confirmed that Sunday’s training session would be conducted behind closed doors.
However, in adherence to FIFA’s regulations, Monday’s training session will be briefly open to the media and the public for 15 minutes, shortly after the official pre-match press conference.
“Coach Eric Chelle is not carried away by the win over Rwanda and is demanding maximum concentration from the players ahead of the next game,” the statement read.
Following their recent victory, the Super Eagles are determined to build on their momentum and secure another important win against Zimbabwe. Chelle’s firm stance on minimizing distractions underscores his commitment to keeping the team focused on their qualification objective.
The Super Eagles will take on Zimbabwe on Tuesday, aiming to strengthen their position in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with another commanding performance.
