Former Chelsea attacking midfielder Oscar has made a high-profile return to São Paulo after completing his exit from Chinese club Shanghai SIPG. The deal, confirmed by São Paulo on Christmas Eve, marks the 32-year-old’s return to Brazilian football after a 14-year absence.

Oscar, who originally left Brazil in 2010 to join Internacional following a contract dispute, spent eight successful years at Shanghai SIPG, where he established himself as one of the top players in the Chinese Super League. Prior to his move to China, Oscar played for Chelsea from 2012 to 2017, winning several major titles, including the Premier League and the FA Cup.

The Brazilian midfielder has signed a three-year contract with São Paulo, which will keep him at the club until 2027. Oscar’s return is expected to bring a wealth of experience and creativity to the São Paulo midfield, as the club looks to strengthen its squad for the upcoming season. The news was officially confirmed by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on social media, with the deal now finalized.
