Nigeria’s Super Falcons out after losing to England

Nigeria will not compete in the quarter-finals of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which is currently taking place in Australia and New Zealand.

This comes after the Super Falcons were eliminated in the Round of 16 by England on penalties on Monday, August 7, 2023.

After 120 minutes, Nigeria and England were tied at 0-0.

During the penalty shoot-out, Desire Oparanozie and Michelle Alozie both missed their spot-kicks.

The quarter-finals will be held on Friday and Saturday.
