Manchester City have been handed a significant boost ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash against Juventus, as Phil Foden and Mateo Kovačić have returned to training.
Kovačić, sidelined since the last international break due to injury, and Foden, who missed City’s last two matches due to illness, both participated in the team’s training session on Tuesday morning.
The duo also traveled with the squad to Turin later in the day, raising hopes of their potential involvement in Wednesday’s high-stakes encounter.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, City manager Pep Guardiola provided an update on their availability.
“I don’t think so,” Guardiola said when asked about their chances of featuring. “Maybe a few minutes for Kova, but I don’t think so. It’s just nice to have them back with the team, in training sessions, and traveling with us.”
City will be aiming for a strong performance against Juventus as they seek to secure their place in the knockout stages of the competition.
